The Internet is a jungle. Beginners need to learn the rules very quickly. Prepare to meet all the familiar species. You will encounter the lot, sharks and other voracious predators, pernicious viruses, worms, thieving magpies, species that spawn e-mails like flies, profligate sales people, complete idiots and malicious pests. They will destroy your business, try to brainwash you, lie, steal, stalk, pay you hush money or threaten you with nonexistent lawyers, They will ask you sign worthless non disclosure agreements, if they get half a chance. Common sense eliminated 99% of the small fry. Internet markers should learn from people they know and trust. Ask your local shopkeepers what they would buy online.


What do people want or might want to buy, which they can not buy in their local High Street? Take a walk down your local High Street and find out. That is marketing. It is not signing up for programs, which high powered sales people tell you, are guaranteed to make you a fortune. People in my area would not want more diet and wellness products. There are more than enough of that genre, in my location already. They might buy sheet music to download from me, if I find an online supplier and sign up as an affiliate. Rule 1 Resource products, which you can sell in your own backyard or Internet community. Do not buy into mass produced affiliate programs and call that selling or advertising.

What do people in the Internet communities, which I inhabit wish to buy? They want money making opportunities which are legal in North America and the EU. They do not want the offers, which the financial predators, criminals and malicious pests have plugged ad nauseam. Never sign up for any HYIP, online pension plan or private investment programs that are recommended by the dodgy money making forums such as ASAGlobalOpportunities. or MyCashForums.

Beginners can trust financial advice offered on the MotleyFool web sites. There is excellent advice on living with debt and rising out of the quagmire. You could join one of the investment clubs recommended there or start learning your way around the auction sites. I use the .co.uk version but use .com for North America or .eu for European Union. There is excellent investment advice for people with small or large amounts to spend and you can receive first class training in how to build a sensible investment portfolio. If you are a punter and enjoy “investment programs” which are money games, it is your decision but never recommend any to earn referral commissions. Things could get nasty, if you recommend a ponzi. Only play them, if you find them more fun than slot machines or lotteries. Make sure that this type of program is legal in your country. I got caught up in the autosurf games when they were the rage but I played with the type of money, that people in UK are happy to spend on lottery tickets football pools or horse races, It was a mugs game but I came out having won a little bit more than I had lost. I still have about $200 “invested” in two, which could collapse or yield a bit of pocket money. The owners are two of the most astute money game administrators, whom I have encountered. I could hit a winning streak or loose.



Do not attempt to advertise or sell any product or service which you have not tested yourself.

The cyberspace jungle is an evolving system like the weather. Expert advice is essential in the short term. It would be folly to disregard it. When it comes to medium and long term predictions, your guess is as good as theirs. Do not fall for the biggest online scammers buy line. If an online investment company or product manager tells you, that they do not allow negative comments about their programs in public forums, that is a very good reason to suspect that he or she is up to no good. RUN in the opposite direction. Long term money making schemes are as reliable, as the long term weather forecast. Ignore them. You will get bitten, stung or ripped off a few times. It is nature’s way of honing your survival skills. We will all get eaten in the end. All of us will end up as a feast for the decay bacteria that survive in the human gut. If there is something to eat in this world, there is another species designed to eat it. Build up an immunity to online parasites and survive.



Do not try to promote products and services online using any domain name, other than your own. Buy a domain name, that is easy for people to remember. Get some tee shirts or track suit tops printed and walk down your local high street. Make some tee shirts for “boob owning friends.” and ask her to advertise your domain on her “Boobs”. Boobs are the best advertising tool in the Western World. She does not have to be young or beautiful. The first thing that you usually notice about a stranger is their clothes. I am over seventy years old but I walk down my High Street wearing a tee shirt with slogans, which attract attention.

It always has been and always will be but crime prevention is catching up and the gap gets less and less as society evolves.

This is an essential part of one’s learning curve. It hurts for a while but it hones the survival instinct.
