I seem to have an art for deliberately or inadvertently opening these. My latest comments have accidentally opened not one can of worms but multiple cans and that has caused me serious headaches. I have ended up with a mass of enemies on the British side of Atlantic pond and even more, who would gladly tear me apart and have my guts for garters on the other side. I will start by discussing my British misdemeanours.
The paid to surf programs are extremely controversial. I have inhabited these forums and built my list or online contacts from the days when programs like 12DailyPro were making some gianormous profits for their members. It was obvious that this was only a bubble waiting to burst but I eventually followed the herd and joined just before it was closed by the American regulatory body, known as The Securities Exchange Council. I was lucky as my total losses were only $60 and I am due to get 100% less 12DailyPro receivers legal expenses pretty soon, as I never received anything at all from 12DailyPro.
Path2prosperity News has a small number of readers but those who do subscribe are very open minded. Readers come from both sides of the Atlantic and there are also quite a few readers from Pacific rim countries. I do my best to answer e-mails personally and keep my newsletters flowing, but a list of five hundred can become very cumbersome, when controversy rages as it has since Christmas. My apologies to all, whom I have appeared to ignore. Hopefully things will proceed at a slower rate, so that I can get some time to collect my thoughts and communicate with you all on a more regular basis.
The big issue is whether paid surf programs are legal or not. The returns are spectacular and I really believe that there is no other way for anybody to generate any online income in the short term. Are these programs legal? The short answer is that industry watchdogs in most free world countries believe that the industry is succeeding in regulating itself. The American Securities Exchange Commission and their FEDS do step in and close down some programs and payment processors that have been operating illegally. These authorities often act too quickly or too slowly and a lot of innocent people have lost a lot of money. Americans are no longer allowed to refer to the industry as the autosurf or the paid surf industry. They have to refer to it as the advertising industry and they can not speak of earnings, They use the word rebates instead of earnings. Misunderstandings can creep into forum posts that are nothing but differences in semantics.
The good news is that most con artists like the notorious Bob Krimm, who ran the Tri-Star Moneychangers payment processor illegally, do get caught now. Krimm stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from reputable paid surf program administrators and their members. The ruthless way he did this has made Internet history. Self regulation appears to be working fairly well in the USA but they have a long way to go before the industry is really clean and people can invest with complete confidence. There are large programs that form their own codes of conduct for surf site administrators and this can cause problems. Conflicting ideas, on what is ethical cause rifts and splinter groups. Some groups refuse to allow statistics to be on public record and term themselves private investment programs, retirement clubs or any other name they can devise. They claim the are no longer autosurf programs. There is competition for the position of top dog among those that ally themselves with others to form their self regulatory bodies. The attacks against each other became extremely ugly in the last two or three weeks.
I do not wish to associate myself with any of these private investment programs. They are very good ones which are absolutely legal in the US but they can break British laws and not care a dime because they are unaware that they are breaking it. When I have tried to point these facts out in the paid to surf forums, I have become public enemy to the majority. Many Americans revere these industry leaders and turn them into icons. If you speak out about some of their revered icons, you can make a very bad name for yourself and I have succeeded in doing that.
The point that a lot of Americans do not get, is that the UK has industry watchdogs which look out for breaches in British laws not US law. The biggest legal difference, is in the trading of hedge funds. Almost anybody in the US can set up a hedge fund but that is not so in the UK. Hedge funds have to be administered by properly qualified and experienced personnel. We have kept most of the large hedge fund crooks out of our country very successfully. American hedge funds are still traded from British offshore islands and British tax havens. Will the laws be changed to plug up loopholes on the law? My answer to that is a resounding YES and I advise British citizens to have absolutely nothing to do with very popular paid advertising programs like VLane, MaximumAds, QuantumLeap, and CashLinkFinancial until they have checked out if these programs are legal in the UK Why?
The answer which I have given to British surfers, has made me unpopular with many Brits who have assumed that I must be a left wing fanatic, who is bringing my political bias into the equation. That is not the case. I am a floating voter, who tries to make up my mind on which of the major parties are doing their best for the country but that usually defeats me, so I vote on local issues and in some cases I have made a tactical vote.
A lot of UK industry watchdogs like OFTEL have proved themselves to be somewhat effete so I pointed out the fact that the real watchdogs who do get loopholes in the law plugged up are our trade unions. I have warned British and Americans who earn good returns from the paid surf programs, that they are playing with fire if they mess with British Trade Unions. I believe that managers of programs like the ones that I have mentioned could wake up one morning and find that our Trade Union Friendly Prime Minister has listened to union leaders and got loopholes plugged up. The managers of these American, paid advertising programs could find that their members can not withdraw funds unless the member takes up residence in the tax haven from which the American program is trading.
What would these American surf admins do then? I do not know but I consider it unwise to tempt providence. The only thing I will say, is that, if you are British, joining private investment programs in the USA, is effectively messing with trade unions in this country. There are plenty of very good paid to surf programs that are publicly monitored and they are the only ones which I would advise any of my British readers to join. I am not accusing these private program managers of being dishonest. I am saying that, if a Brit joins a private investment program and the trade unions get legislation on to the statute book that wrecks the program, there is no point complaining. Ignorance of the law is no excuse for breaking it and signing up for private programs could land you in trouble. One of the best American traders runs a private investment program which is Pathway2prosperity. This has absolutely no connection to this domain whatsoever. The similarity in the domain names is sheer coincidence. Is Pathway2prosperity legal in the UK? The owners tell us that it will not be long before their program is accredited by Lloyds of London. If that happens there will be no need to ask any more questions as this will become Internationally bona fide. If it does not happen, there is still no need to join the private program and buy a credit to get your money out. A number of publicly monitored surf programs will invest all or part of your investment for you and you can get paid by a gold exchange program or an Internationally acclaimed payment processor.
