How to Define and Apply Your Intelligence in The World of Internet Marketing.

There are numerous definitions of intelligence and even more ways, that people have devised to attempt to measure intelligence. There are two types of intelligence which can be measured by simple industrial psychometric profiling methods. Hazard a guess at your levels of intelligence defined by these principals. It could provide you with some clues about the best ways to utilize those levels of intelligence in your online endeavours.

There are the original thinkers, the people who come up with new products designs and concepts. At the top end of this spectrum we can name people like Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci and Howard Hughes. What about Henry Ford? Henry Ford was not a highly educated man and he did not consider himself to be a particularly clever person but he knew how to produce and promote products, which people were prepared to buy. Somebody tried to humiliate Henry Ford on a radio show by asking, if he knew the answer to a technical questions, that most automotive designers knew. Henry Ford’s answer illustrates the second type of intelligence, which can be used in the workplace. His reply was, that he did not know the answer. He went on to say. “Give me five minutes and I will find you somebody who does.” Henry Ford had what psychometric testing defines as “the ability to take another person’s idea and make it serve a useful purpose!” The big MLM program managers do not encourage you to use this type of intelligence. They want you to be their stooges. They want you to promote their pages, send out their potted advertising copy and do their bidding. They do not want to train you to promote web pages, that you have designed yourself. Take a leaf out of Henry Ford’s book and borrow some of their ideas! Lorraine Brooks has succeeded in doing that very efficiently.

Lorraine Brooks the webmaster of Purrrfect AdClicks is not in the same league as Henry Ford but her endeavours illustrate the type of intelligence levels she needed to set up and run her business. Lorraine’s husband was badly injured when a lorry collapsed on him. They needed money for medical bills and living expenses. Lorraine is partially deaf so finding a well paid job was well nigh impossible. She decided to turn her Internet hobby into an online business. Lorraine did not have any training as a web site designer. She utilised her high levels of intelligence to locate the best free web template and web hosting packages to suit her purposes. She designed a very simple web site from an All4Webs template, which could not fail to attract attention. She found a job as a traffic exchange administrator and absorbed knowledge about the traffic exchange industry like a sponge.

Lorraine’s first web site was called
PurrfectCritters. It attracted far more attention than most other web sites on the exchange. Her web site pulled in a lot more signups and business for the exchange than most other pages. Why? Lorraine put something on her web pages that was certain to make a lot of people stop surfing to take a look at the contents of her pages. She put a different enchanting cat picture on the site every day and offered members the opportunity of having their favourite “PurrfectCritters” picture on her site! Cat loving softies could not resist signing up and surfing the exchange! Lorraine has started her own traffic exchange now. If you have a product or service which you would like to advertise to the cat loving sector of the human race, I suggest that you join. Cat lovers pages with Google ads, generate clicks and revenue. You do not have to be an advertising executive to know that feline grace and beauty sells products.

Internet Business Models. Why the vast majority are nothing but “mathematical gobbledygook”.

Internet Teams.
Can we build teams and management structures, which work online?

The World Wide Web was not designed. It evolved and it is still evolving at an alarming rate. Nobody has or is ever likely to have any control over the system. The mathematics of evolving systems are incredibly complex. Don’t believe what anybody has to say on the matter unless they have a very sound knowledge of subjects like Euclidian geometry, non linear dynamics or chaos theory. Evolving systems only flourish when they exist on the edge of chaos. If the system evolves too quickly, it becomes unstable and any unprecedented event throws the entire system back into chaos. If the system evolves too slowly, it ceases to exist. Can anybody or anything control the rate of change?

The rate of change is a very difficult concept for most of us to grasp, as the principles can only be explained to those of us who have a a very good understanding of calculus. This does not mean that we need to shy away from the World Wide Web. We can observe the rate of change in things and or concepts, with which we are familiar. Some people, (very few) can predict changes in evolving systems like weather patterns, combustion, the expanding universe, microbes, hedge funds or derivatives. They can offer very good advice in the short term but when it comes to the medium and long term trends, your guess is as good as theirs. Regard expert advice on the future of any evolving system in the same way that you regard the long term weather forecast. Any advice on evolving financial systems like autosurf programs, MLMs and HYIPs which are based on simple arithmetic or any claims about “flawless models”, should be relegated to the deep recesses of your mind or, in modern technical parlance “The Crypt of Crap.” Trust your own common sense and the common sense of people whom you trust. Many of the business models, which succeed on the Internet are the ones which have succeeded off line for years. Please take a look at some suggested by

There is a fashionable Internet marketing style, which psychometric profilers describe as an autocratic management style. There is also a widely held belief among inexperienced marketers, that this autocratic school of thought is the only way to succeed, if you want to run a successful home based business. That concept is complete rubbish. Autocratic managers and projects run by people with an autocratic management style always streak ahead in the early stages but they run out of steam very quickly. Autocrats are the sprinters, not the marathon runners! Nearly all nature’s “whiz-kids” are autocratic in their management style. Autocrats are an essential part of any workforce. They are the go getters, the self starters, who achieve results faster than other personality types. They need the type of boss who gives them a lot of scope and has the ability to make it very clear what sanctions exist. Impose too many sanctions and they will become demotivated and they will both distract and demotivate the whole team.

IBM made one classic team building mistakes. They recruited teams of whiz-kids and removed many of the big Company sanctions, in the belief that these whiz-kid teams would pull together. What happened? The young bucks started fighting one another and the teams disintegrated! Man’s natural territorial instincts took over and created a battle for dominance! They started behaving like a group of stag deer in the rutting season!

Marks and Spencer made another classic team building mistake. They decided, that they could do without people of this ilk, whom “Belbin” describes in his book “Team Roles.” as “Anxious Extroverts.” Marks and Spencer thought well balanced, people orientated managers would be provide a better service to their customers. They recruited teams of “Stable Extroverts.” What happened? Their managers were more interested in pleasing people and fellow team members than they were in obtaining results. Sales and orders dropped to an almost catastrophic level.

There are many million and some billion dollar businesses, that have sprung up in the first decade of Internet history. Most of them are autocratic in their management style. A few will survive but most of today’s Internet Gurus will end up as unknown “Rich Geezers.” Democratic managers have very different characteristics. They usually overtake the autocrats in the medium and long term. As this is the second decade of Internet history, you must expect dramatic changes in successful management styles. If you are planning to invest time and or money in a large Company program, it makes sense to select one with a democratic management style. Be careful. Enterprises, which appears to be democratically managed at first glance can be paternalistic in their management style! There are a lot of tell tale signs. Do members revere a “Big Daddy Figure?” Do “Big Daddy’s” loyal servants expect their grass roots members to post obsequious comments about the virtues of “Big Daddy.” in public forums? Does “Big Daddy” surround himself with a group of henchmen or sycophants?

Paternalistic management works very well in many Countries but it is usually Mafia style. Organised Mafia style protection rackets and gangs have been the bane of the get paid to surf industry. Scripts designed for the type of security measures that foil opportunist thieves in countries like the USA, Canada, UK and Australia have proved ineffective against this type of organised crime. Some get paid to surf programs have actually banned members from Italy and Russia where Mafia style criminals still hold sway.

If you are thinking of joining a large Company, where you can learn to make a living online and interact with other members who have a huge range of skills, it makes sense to join a program with a democratic corporate image and management style. I can suggest none better than the Adlandpro Marketing and Business Building and Marketing Community. Free marketing tools from this Company are second to none. If you would like a free

I wish I had a clue about the answer to that one. There may be some methods which work in the USA or Canada but they are usually based on conference calls which are incredibly expensive to attend unless you live on The North American Continent. There are not many people in the UK, who will set their alarm clocks to listen to the Chairman or Chief Executive of an Internet enterprise speak at 3am in the morning. Streamed video may work in some areas but the cost of computer equipment to receive it is prohibitive for the majority of people in the UK. The points to be considered, if you are trying to build Internet Marketing teams is how you can utilise the skills of team members. I do not wish to waste time trying to build teams where the vast majority are dead wood and most of the e-mails that I send land up in junk mail folders. Why bother with these large programs if there are products and services which you can promote to contacts within your own geographical area or online communities.

It is much easier to promote a product or service to a person who has similar goals to yourself, so think about your own short, medium and long term goals. I know of no way to make money in the short term other than the paid to surf industry. There are risks involved but those risks can be minimal while you learn the ropes. It can produce enough income to get your longer term plans off the ground. You need money to spend on your promotional campaigns. You can make enough bread and butter from the autosurf programs to generate a realistic advertising budget. My argument in favour of the get paid to surf programs can be seen here.

When Sir Michael Edwards was appointed as head of the massive British Leyland Corporation, The British economy was in serious trouble. Our automotive industry was clocking up unprecedented losses. Who knows what would have have happened, if Sir Michael had not succeeded in setting this massive loss making giant on course again? His book is not only a thumping good read, it was used as a text book and essential reading in my psychometric profiling studies. What did he do in his first two years?

Sir Michael tells us what he did. He listened to the politicians of his day. He listened to his shareholders. He listened to the trade unions. He listened to all his employees from directors to floor sweepers and lavatory attendants. What did he hear? He heard a message that was as old as the hills. Fifty percent of the people whom he had interviewed, wanted change. They had plans for change and they felt that they could not wait for him to implement change. The other fifty percent wanted to maintain the status quo. They swore by tried and tested methods, resisted change and became hostile, as they felt threatened by change. Haven’t we heard this before? Of course we have. Most of us can remember learning, some of the Universal Laws simplified by Sir Isaac Newton. “For every force there is an opposing force.“ These laws which have governed the Universe for centuries and were expounded by The Buddha in a different millennia, will not change in our life times. If we listen to Internet Gurus who tell us to ban negative thinking and accept their counsel about no negative publicity we are not going to succeed in anything. Trying to ban negative thinking and emotions is about as ridiculous as the suggestion that we ban gravity or join forces to hold back the rising tide.

Sir Michael had no doubts about what he should do about people who were negative in their thoughts and actions. He decided to introduce psychometric profiling and change most of the job specifications, so that people could utilise their behavioural characteristics in a way that suited their nature rather than pigeon holing them into jobs that had been defined in previous decades. He realised that if his workforce was to pull together he needed to change the jobs not the people! I am trying to remember the name of this book and read it again so that I can introduce my readers to more of his inspiring thoughts and experiences.

I will try to explain many other ways that we can utilise the skills of others rather than expect them to adopt a dictatorial style of marketing in future editions of Path2prosperity News. We need to start by finding out what others want to do and discover where their their strengths and weaknesses in the workplace lie. It is just as important to know a person’s weeknesses as well as his or her strengths. Don’t expect to change the way people work. They will not change unless they are directed into channels, for which they are characteristically suited. I will leave you with a thought on which to muse. Do all great leaders have to be dominant go getters or people who act positively in the face of adversity? What about Mahatma Gandhi?
