There are many financial pundits, who have predicted that the next boom in e-commerce would begin in the middle of 2006, that this would be the time when the second dot com boom would take off like the phoenix!. Are those predictions likely to be a reality? I have no idea. I consider long term financial predictions to be as reliable as the long term weather forecast. Short term weather forecasts are very reliable, because they are compiled by professionals who understand the mathematical patterns, which govern all evolving systems (including weather patterns and financial systems.) It makes sense to keep our eyes and ears tuned to short term forecasts about financial and economic issues in the coming months. There could be storm clouds on the horizon!

I intend to pay more than the usual amount of attention to snippets of financial news this year. Our Internet business plans should be ones that will survive snow, rain or hail. Never put all your eggs in one basket! There is a first class web site where people with no experience or very little experience in investment strategy congregate to learn from people who have considerable experience playing the World stock markets. Take a look at
The Motley Fool Sign up and get to know some of the professionals and lay people who make comments about issues that could effect our business plans for 2006. The Motley Fools who post to the bulletin boards have succeeded in beating the experts time and time again. Their tips contain very valuable information, which is not often published in serious financial journals. Watch out for the forecast. Can we expect storm clouds or ideal conditions for economic growth?

If you have any considered opinions on the 2006 boom, or you have abstracted material from reliable sources, please email the data to me. If I publish it, I will link the material to one of your web sites.

My own reaction is, that I will be very careful about spending any money on Internet marketing programs other than the ones that I can advertise to householders and small businesses in my local community or to people in the Internet communities that I have chosen to inhabit. I intend to sell and advertise real products and services, not grand ideas and dreams of riches.

There may be another dot com boom around the corner. There may be many new multimillionaires as a result of the boom but there may be no boom at all. There may be a lot of worthless endeavours on the Internet, bubbles that have to burst before there is a steady growth of bona fide income generating projects. I prefer to stand on the sidelines and build a business that will yield a steady income.

Digitally delivered products are always in demand. They make the best affiliate programs. I have invested in a Clickbank Internet store. I strongly advise anybody, who is thinking of setting up their own Internet store to subscribe to Ron and Rick Davies short treatise on marketing Clickbank products. Ron and Rick acquired the nickname “The Clickbank Gurus” when they succeeded in creating a fully integrated customer portal for Clickbank. It is the only portal of its kind to be accepted and recommended by Clickbank. They succeeded in achieving what many considered an impossibility. They created order out of the Clickbank miasma.

I have made a comment on this. It is not intended to be a “considered opinion.” It is my feelings about the subject. I have sufficient confidence to publish my feelings on the Business Opportunities page of my web site, because I know that a number of people share those feelings. The comment is reproduced below.

The Internet is is an evolving system like the jungle. Plenty of animal and plant species survive on the pickings from big fish and big beasts. Autosurfing is only a method of promoting the big fishes’ affiliate programs. They have a surfeit of traffic to their sites and can afford the few the scraps of cash that they pay to an army of autosurfers in the present economic climate. Autosurfing can be seen as a legitimate home based business opportunity. It does provide some sort of income for people who have enough computers to run them for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is not a sensible long term affiliate marketing strategy. When better home based business opportunities are launched, these big fish will not have so much surplus. Will they provide for you then? If you decide to promote autosurf programs, you will have to learn a fair bit about the behaviour of the big fish to succeed at this game. Many are sharks! Path2prosperity prefers to recommend programs which teach you business skills and introduce you to groups of people who prefer to share their knowledge with the new generation of online entrepreneurs. This is simple jungle law. Intelligent species learn to hunt in packs and fend off the predators as a group. Please see an article written for Path2prosperity News.

Earl writes. “ I have mixed feelings about auto surf traffic exchanges even though I own two (RailroadTraffic and HitDog.biz.) I would never place a site on an auto-surf exchange and expect it to bring in new members or sell products to any of their members because the majority of the users click to start surfing and go and do something else never looking at one page that is displayed on the surf bar. I would never buy credits or purchase any upgrades from an auto-surf site.

The auto-surf sites do have their place. If you are a new web site owner and you are trying to attract good advertisers to your site, an auto-surf exchange can help you. Most advertisers will not place ads on a low traffic web site and an auto-surf site can help you receive hit counts or impressions, that can help you attract these advertisers. They can also help build your Alexia rating. Are these quality hit or impressions? NO, but that is not the question advertisers ask. What they want to know is how much traffic the web site receive, per day, month or per year.

When a web site owner attracts some quality advertisers with the help of auto-surf programs, the owner should move the site on to some other means of advertising because the ads on his or her web site will never receive any clicked if he or she continues to use auto-surf traffic exchanges. Do not expect much more from and auto-surf exchange!

Now let me ask you a question. What is better, the person who auto-surfs or a person who surfs 5 to 15 manual surf exchanges at one time? There are browsers on the market that you can use to open as many pages as your computer will allow including CrazyBrowser -- Foxfire -- Advant. These browsers allow you to open new pages with a tab that you click on to change pages. You can also store these pages in groups and with a click of a button you arer off surfing. The only difference here is you actually click to change pages to earn the credits. The point is still the same. The people who use this method are still not looking at YOUR WEB SITE. So what is better? Neither.
You will never see me recommend these browser -- why? Because it is not fair to the members who work hard to advertise using my exchanges. Maybe this is why I will never make much money from my exchanges.

I strive to get the best possible traffic for my members and what I recommend to my people is to sign up for about 20 to 30 traffic exchanges (manual preferred) and surf about 50 pages a day on 5 different exchanges. This would allow you to surf and view the other members offerings on 20 - 30 exchanges each week and not work yourself silly by trying to keep up with everything.

I have rejected a lot of sites lately because of all the junk that is attached to them. I have a lot of security on my personal cpu but some rubbish does get through. Do I plan to keep our auto-surf feature? I don't know -- but if I do there will be a change to the script --I will have to differentiate between manual surf credits credits and auto surf credits.”

That is the million dollar question. So many programs and program managers have adopted the same format for their advertising, that it is more and more difficult to pinpoint a style of advertising, which is not hot air, “bovine manure” or tripe and nonsense! I strongly advise my readers to spend time reading a report issued by The Federal Trade Commission in Washington USA. It is long but it does give very precise information about programs and business opportunities that have been classified as scams. People did and still are, promoting these programs as genuine business opportunities. Many of the business strategies and models started out as fairly innocuous ideas that were similar to the ones, that members of the privileged classes promoted on their “Old Boy Networks.” It is important to steer clear of these programs now because they have been classified as SCAMS. Please see.

I am not able to publish advertisements for MLM programs, randomisers, autosurf, exchanges, training schemes or large programs. I am interested in digitally delivered products, which you sell or which you recommend as good affiliate programs. My best selling product in 2005 was ErrorDoctor. It is a brilliant product and a first class affiliate program. Please take a look at the information about this product and send me your advertisement for tools and or products, so that we can evaluate them as a group. Please send the advertisement to Judy Hortin
